Marcel Proust wrote, “We don’t receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us.”
I’m grateful to all the learned—and sometimes not-so-learned— people I’ve read about, met, lived with and loved who have taught me so much. Some have been shining examples and positive models. Others have been warnings. I appreciate both.
